I am a military veteran

I am loyal to a fault

I have a no quit mentality

I am persistent

I work past the pain even mentally

I suffer often in silence

I will ask for help only when forced to do so

I will keep my trauma inside locked away

I will never forget my brothers

I will live on their behalf

I will honor their ultimate sacrifice

I will not let anyone speak ill of my brothers

I will not tolerate any sign of disrespect at their burials

I will honor the right of freedom for all but not at their expense

For they have paid enough

I will pay for their lives with my guilt and shame

But others have no right to disrespect them

I would rather die than to witness this disrespect

It was not their choice to walk into the fire

They volunteered and were ordered to go where they went

To protect even those who hate them for going to feel freedom’s benefit

The right to choose religion, beliefs and bear arms
