Heroes

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes
Not all of them get any medals
Some refuse to even talk about being a Hero
Some get embarrassed when someone calls them a Hero
Some gave their medals away or refuse to take them
Many were only doing their job
Many were protecting their unrelated family
Many were doing only what needed to be done
All were proud and felt honored to do so
All were sacrificing so others would not have to
All were members of a group, a family, a purpose
None would change their choice
None would have rather asked someone to take their place
None would choose to Not do it again
Because a Hero fights battles
Some battles are not visible
Many scars are not seen
All seek peace in the future for all
None want others to see what they've seen
